Miles for Mike - The Holloways
Happy Labor Day everyone! This past weekend, I had the honor to be invited to the "Miles for Mike 5K Walk," where Mr. and Mrs. Holloway, pictured below, led participants in a commemorative awareness walk in honor of their late son.
Mental health advocacy has always been a passion of mine. Specifically in the City of Cabot, we are witnessing far too many lives lost as a result of suicide. Moreover, Cabot is in desperate need for a revitalization in the mental health atmosphere. Working with many Cabot therapists, Cabot High School Counselors and Administration, and even national organizations for mental health advocacy, I have obtained the insight as to how we need to address and remedy issues stemming from the neglect of mental heath by our city's leaders.
If chosen to represent our community, I no doubt will make mental health and suicide preventative measures at the forefront of our community's focus. For too long, the city has failed to address these issues and as a result, we have lost too many members from all age demographics from our community. With established connections to many mental health organizations and professionals, I can provide Cabot with the crucial connections and propositions to better our city's efforts to remove the stigma often associated with mental health. Join us in our fight to protect all members of our community from failing to receive the proper help they are desperately calling out for.
Thank you for all your support so far and I look forward to the conversations our campaign will bring to the City of Cabot. Furthermore, I would like to thank the Holloway family and their supporters for the bravery and compassion they have demonstrated over the past few months. They have exemplified the power of community in coming together during times of hardship. Mr. and Mrs. Holloway, I am truly humbled by the experiences and conversation I have had the honor to partake in this weekend and I hope that you notice that our communities value your efforts.
Fired Up - Cabot : Mrs. Amber Breedlove
Meet Amber Breedlove, a local business owner in Cabot who is bringing smiles to children's faces within the Cabot Community and inspiring the families of Cabot to express their more create sides! Mrs. Breedlove has been involved in a variety of activities that allow for young women in our community to become prominent leaders and make sustainable change to better our community. Specifically, Mrs. Breedlove manages service projects for many of our local Girl Scout Troops. From filling stockings for foster children to encouraging financial entrepreneurship through the distribution of the beloved Girl Scout Cookies, Mrs. Breedlove is a prime example of what we as a city should strive for. Thank you Mrs. Breedlove for the support of the Crumpler for Cabot Campaign and we encourage our followers to stop by Fired Up - Cabot to let your inner artist shine through your own piece of unique pottery.
Food Truck Frenzy - Mrs. Sarah Wells
Happy September 17, 2020! Tonight, Cabot held its final Food Truck Frenzy of 2020, just another sign that this year is coming to a close. Tonight, not only did I have the honor of participating in this beloved city event, but I also had the pleasure to meet Sarah Wells.
Mrs. Wells, a familiar face in the City of Cabot, has experienced our city's atmosphere spanning from her early adolescent years in the community to current residency within our city. Mrs. Wells has had an artistic passion since her youth, and continues to share her gift with our city. As many of you might have seen, her most recent addition to the city has been the mural located on the wall of the Cabot Meat Market titled #holycow. However, this is not Mrs. Wells' only work within the city.
Mrs. Wells became involved in the beautification process of Cabot that is currently being enacted within the heart of our city through the city's outreach to local artists that are featured on the Cabot Art Walk. Here, Mrs. Wells channeled her creativity for the revitalization efforts that are allowing for Cabot to express its modern aesthetic.
Speaking with Mrs. Wells today, I got to hear the reasoning and inspiration behind a lot of her work. She mentioned her value in referencing Cabot's history in a contemporary point of view that would share the forgotten past of Cabot. Mrs. Wells specifically pointed to her inspiration for #holycow as stemming from the origins of Cabot as a dairy farm city and its original nickname of "Cow Town." This forgotten era would have likely been erased from the knowledge of the next generations of Cabot had it not been for the efforts of both Mrs. Wells and the Cabot Foundation for Arts and Culture.
Overall, the ongoing efforts to reenergize our city are certainly becoming a reality. Spanning from Mrs. Wells' mural to the Food Truck Frenzy's ability to encourage a united community, Cabot most certainly is making the progress toward an innovative future. Thank you Mrs. Wells for taking the time to speak with me this afternoon and I encourage all those who support our campaign to follow the attached link below to Mrs. Wells' Family Farm Page!

Power of Cabot's Youth - Ms. Haley Hunter
Happy September 24, 2020 everyone! Today, our campaign would like to introduce our supporters to Cabot High School graduate Haley Hunter!
Haley has been a resident of Cabot for most of her life, as she attended the Cabot Public School system from her early years of elementary schooling to her recent graduation from the Cabot High School. During her time within the school district, Haley gravitated towards the creative outlets of life, of which included photography and digital art.
However, Haley's involvement in the community expanded beyond the walls of the classroom. Haley has been photographing events, such as CabotFest and our beloved Friday night Cabot football games, throughout much of her junior and senior years.
Our campaign was thrilled when Haley reached out to our campaign in hopes of contributing her talents to our efforts to improve the city. Attached to this post is the graphic design that Ms. Hunter was inspired to create in order to promote the ideal that youth culture within Cabot can provide innovation and excitement within our city's boundaries. Furthermore, Ms. Hunter embodies the need for our city to integrate the talents and bright minds that Cabot's younger demographic can offer.
Along these lines, I would like to announce the intention of my campaign to erect the Cabot Youth Council that would hope to uplift the voices of the students and younger bodies of Cabot in order for their concerns to be heard at the local government level. While this council will not carry any specific legislative power over the City of Cabot, it will allow for Cabot's youth culture to have a seat at the conversation table, a seat that has been missing since the establishment of our city.
Finally, our campaign would like to celebrate Ms. Hunter's birthday today and would like our supporters to show their support for Haley's dedication to both the Cabot community and our campaign in the comment section below.
If you would like to reach out to Haley for any graphic art business inquires, she has mentioned that her Instagram is the best location to do so. We will attach a link to her Instagram page below!

The Popcorn Spot - Mrs. Traci Conners
Happy October 6, 2020! Today, I had the honor to get to know Mrs. Traci Conners, one of the owners of Cabot's own The Popcorn Spot and the soon opening The Escape Spot!
Mrs. Conners' family relocated to Cabot in 2016, as she felt it was important to bring her family back to a small-town atmosphere with an amazing educational system. Cabot was the perfect place for this in her mind, as she understands that Cabot's youth is vital to the future innovation of our city, a similar mantra to our own campaign. Overall, Mrs. Conners feels that the Cabot community has been truly supportive of her entrepreneurship and creative outlet.
Mrs. Conners mentioned with me today that she opened The Popcorn Spot out of her desires to express her inner creativity. Furthermore, she was inspired by the community to continue her business endeavors by establishing The Escape Spot, a place where she hopes will provide team bonding and critical thinking for Cabot's citizens.
Mrs. Conners also had the chance to mention how many of her customers are residents outside of the Cabot boundaries, mentioning how people will travel as far away as Searcy in order to purchase from her business. This is one of the key takeaways that I hope Cabot's constituents will understand as a pillar of the Cabot small business community: the ability to pull in revenue from outside sources.
I am truly privilege to have gotten to know Mrs. Conners on a more personal basis today, and I wish her good luck as she begins her new chapter as a member of the Cabot Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Cabot Chamber of Commerce
Happy Thursday, October 8th everyone! Yesterday, I was privileged to meet with leaders of the Cabot Chamber of Commerce, where we discussed a variety of issues.
First, chamber members and myself discussed how the City of Cabot's economic atmosphere has witnessed tremendous growth over the past few years. Members attributed this success to new leadership within the chamber and increased networking among members of the Cabot Chamber of Commerce.
Furthermore, the chamber members mentioned how the city has seen growth from 2013's 300 member chamber to today's approximate 500 member chamber. They believe that these members are providing Cabot with both increased community involvement and overall greater knowledge of the businesses our city has to offer.
One of the highlights of our meeting was the topic of retention of Cabot citizens within our community boundaries. More specifically, both myself and the Cabot Chamber of Commerce believe that Cabot struggles with providing adequate opportunity to draw Cabot's graduates back to our city for work opportunities. This issues has continuously been at the forefront of our campaign, and if elected, I would continue to recognize this obstacle of our city and hope to reach out to Cabot's youth to see what they specifically would like to see within the job atmosphere of Cabot in hopes of inspiring their eventual return.
Much appreciation to the Cabot Chamber of Commerce for meeting with me yesterday, and I look forward to a future where we promote the economic and job growth of our city.
Pea Farm Bistro - Mr. & Mrs. Wilson
We made it to the weekend everyone! This Friday, I got the chance to meet with local business owners Andrea and Justin Wilson, owners of Cabot's Pea Farm Bistro. This meeting provided a wonderful opportunity to learn more about such an established business of Cabot.
Mrs. Wilson detailed the history of her establishment, mentioning how she and her husband started their entrepreneurial endeavors through the mobile vendor Hot Rod Weiners, which ultimately led to their migration toward a permanent Cabot business under Pea Farm Bistro.
She detailed how the couple selected Cabot for their permanent place of business as a result of the vast array of agricultural goods our city provides. In a spirit of "using Cabot for Cabot," Mrs. Wilson acknowledged that Pea Farm Bistro has been using produce, such as locally grown blueberries, strawberries, basil, oregano, and even honey, to enhance their dining experiences.
The awarded Pea Farm Bistro has been recognized for their brilliant club sandwiches and house soups. Because of this, the couple described how their business has seen reoccurring customers in Cabot's city from places such as Benton, Little Rock, and even a few returning customers from Mississippi, all of whom are bringing outside revenue into our city.
In terms of city concerns, Mrs. Wilson spoke to her recognition that Cabot has some of the best innovative minds in Arkansas, and she believes that the city could be better capitalizing on these students. Once again, I am glad to hear that the constituents of Cabot are ready for change in regards to how our city provides for our youth.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Wilson for talking with me today, and for our supporters, be sure to stop by Pea Farm Bistro for some award winning, home-styled meals!
The Mean Pig - Mr. Chad Merritt
Happy October 14, 2020 everyone! Today, I was fortunate enough to speak with Chad Merritt, an integral part of the familiar Cabot business The Mean Pig BBQ.
Our discussion consisted of the history of this town staple and how our city has continued to provide support for this small businesses.
Mr. Merritt detailed the restaurant from its origin in 1997 as a family oriented style business. From it start, the restaurant has been passed from generation to generation within the Merritt family.
Furthermore, Mr. Merritt described how the City of Cabot has been nothing but supportive towards their continued commitment to our city. He described how the COVID-19 Pandemic presented the business with the opportunity to support its community through food donation, with the backing of many of Cabot's citizens through their own donations to the business.
Overall, I would like to express my gratitude toward Mr. Merritt and his family and may their business continue to be blessed with success. Be sure to get your BBQ from this amazing family!
